Teleporters consist of a metal pad that emits a light, which is what the character stands in, in order to be teleported. The light shines directly upward, and is a different colour for each type of teleporter.
General game information
When stepped on, Toxic lifts his right hand up and disappears in a white light. Teleporters are based off pads from the Hot Air series. There are three types of teleporters: green teleporters, red teleporters; and introduced in Toxic II, blue Teleporters.
Green teleporters are the first teleporters encountered in the Toxic series.
Green teleporters are the teleporters that teleports Toxic into the level. A beam of white light will appear from above, and Toxic will form on the platform in a crouched position. Green teleporters are probably connected to the red teleporters, as green ones teleport Toxic into the level, while red ones teleport him out. It is unsure if he goes anywhere in between.
Red teleporters are the second type of teleporter found in the Toxic series.
Upon walking on to the middle of a red teleporter, the player will turn into a white light and shoot up off the screen. Red teleporters are the objective to reach in each level, because teleporting from one will unlock the next level.
Blue teleporters are a type of teleporter found only in Toxic II.
Blue teleporters serve the same purpose as red teleporters, but don't appear in every level, and are hidden in the level. The player often has to travel to a distant location, take a different path, or go up areas which have not been ventured through. Sometimes, the player has to do actions which seem illogical (e.g: On level 18, to access level 18.1, the player has to go through some walls which have the appearance of being solid but are not).
When entering a blue teleporter, the player completes the level, the same as accessing the red pad, but do not unlock the next level (e.g: If the player first accesses the blue teleporter in level 18.0 but hasn't got to the red teleporter of 18.0, they will unlock level 18.1 but not level 19.0).
The player can tell if there is going to be a blue teleporter on a level, because on the level select screen it shows the hidden level branching off from the original level.
