Citations[]

I have created a draft of the Manual of Style for citations. Should anything be changed before its addition to this page? Link: User:Ayernam/CitationsMOS. -- 25px-Auto_peg.png Ayernam Salve amicus! Quid agis? 17:52, January 20, 2014 (UTC)

I modified the text to better suit the MOS:
Inline citations should be enclosed within <ref></ref> tags, to the right of the attributed content and after any punctuation. Inline citations that use blog posts, tweets, Facebook posts and YouTube videos by Nitrome should use {{cite}}. Sources archived through the Internet Wayback Machine require {{wayback}} instead.
If {{Reflist}} is not present on the page, a section should be added to the bottom of the page before the "External links" section (where applicable).
The Manual of Style only needs to outline the formatting for citations. If we want to go more in depth to the procedure (what sources are reliable, etc.), we should create a separate page - ideally at Nitrome Wiki:Citations. The draft on your userpage might work for that, but we probably need to re-evaluate the way this wiki does citations as a whole. Take for instance, the fact that not every source is used inline. If a few sources are used to model the entire article, they can be tucked into a References section without any fancy templates.
Speaking of which, I really need to rewrite the MOS someday.  Talk Random-storykeeper Contributions 06:04, January 26, 2014 (UTC)
Okay, sounds good. Perhaps we should have some form of community discussion or announcement on what sources are legitimate and how to use citations, as I imagine there are some discrepancies there. -- 25px-Auto_peg.png Ayernam Salve amicus! Quid agis? 18:41, January 26, 2014 (UTC)
You read my mind. Let's do it. :D  Talk Random-storykeeper Contributions 19:09, January 26, 2014 (UTC)
