Hop Swap is a puzzle platformer released on released on Google Play on November 23rd, 2016[2] and the App Store on November 24th, 2016[3]. Nitrome plans to release the game for Android on the Amazon App Store[4] and browser[4]. The player plays as a boy who has the ability to swap between two worlds.
Controls[]
Side swipe - Change the direction that the boy runs in
- Upwards swipe - Jump
- Downwards swipe - Ground pound downwards
Story[]
The game begins with an intro sequence showing the boy in his bed, sleeping. At this point, he has yellow skin, and wears blue jammies. He hears a noise outside his room, and then walks out into the living room, looking drowsy. He sees a glimmer of light on the floor, which then becomes a large portal. The boy, who looks shocked falls inside. At this point, he transforms into his in-game form, and continues falling until he lands on a platform. He gets up, looks around, and continues.
Gameplay[]
In the game, the boy will automatically run in the direction he is facing, and you have to swipe in order to make him go the opposite direction. The boy cannot stop running, however if you stand at a sign marked with a '!', he will automatically stop unless you swipe in any direction. The game has two dimensions stacked together; the upper one has a yellow sky and blue ground, while the lower one is vice versa. In order to transverse between dimensions, you must swipe downwards/upwards, and the boy will ground pound downwards and transverse. If there is terrain in between the dimensions, you can merely smash downwards/upwards, but this is effective in killing enemies more precisely, rather than just jumping on them.
