The player guides a green blob down a square tunnel using the arrow keys. The player can move forwards, backwards, or to either side, and may move from one wall to another by moving laterally, bouncing off of a pink panel or going through a green panel. Whatever wall the blob is on appears as the floor to the player. The player can only walk or land on given tiles. Bouncing onto a red panel results in death. A hole can be turned into a tile by rolling a ball of residue into it.

Previews[]

Flue was first hinted at on the May 9 Friday update post in 2014, where Nitrome presented the possibility of releasing a new game the following week.[1] A screenshot of the game was officially announced on May 13, 2014. The post showed a GIF of the gameplay and also revealed that it was an icon game.[2]

Trivia[]

  • The level select screen icon for level 15 is a skull instead of the number 15.
  • For the Nitrome Jam game Loop, there is an icon for Flue in the "More projects created by this team members" section.
  • In the game's logo, the letter E in "Flue" is backwards.
  • The title of the game could be a play on words, as "flue" is a homophone for the common nickname for the influenza virus.
