Small apes are enemies encountered in the games Frost Bite 2 and Nitrome Must Die. They do not appear in the prequel, Frost Bite.

Appearance

Small apes appear as a small furry creature, with fur all over its body. A few parts of its body are exposed, these being the fists and head. The body of the creature has its head sticking put, which has its mouth and visible eye. It has two furry arms with clenched fists, although they don't attack by punching. On its head are horns, which will harm the player.

In NMD

Small apes move very fast, compared to most enemies. They are only encountered in caves, and although they have clenched fists, they do not punch to attack. They are dangerous in small areas due to there walking speed and that they can't be jumped on, as there horns will damage the player. Often only one small ape is found walking. During the battle with the giant ape, the giant ape will roar two of them out of its mouth. These apes only move on the floor, and make it a danger. They are eventually roared out and replaced with two new ones.

Nitrome Must Die

Small apes appear in Nitrome Must Die in a few levels. They walk one direction, turning when they meet walls. Their Nitrome Must Die sprite has a similar appearance to their Frost Bite sprite, the only difference being their Nitrome Must Die sprite is a bit lighter than their Frost Bite one, much like all other Nitrome Must Die enemies' sprites.
