Magnetic blocks are a variation of the metal blocks in the game Powerup, making their first appearance in level 5.

Appearance

Magnetic blocks are distinguished by their different coloured markings at their corners as opposed to the metal blocks, who generally remain the same colour throughout.

Game information

As with metal blocks, magnetic blocks can be used to create a circuit between the two transformers seen in each level of the game. These blocks, however, are able to stick to other metal blocks as well as the robot heads, which may become useful to players if the robot heads are separated by a large gap wide and deep.

A noise is heard whenever players successfully attach magnetic blocks to another metal surface. If players attempt to build a long structure out of magnetic blocks, the weight of the other blocks attached to the base (usually the robot's head) will become unstable because of the weight and will cause the structure to fall apart.

This can usually be fixed if pieces are available to support the long magnetic structure from underneath. Such pieces are the balloon blocks, which can float in midair and hold unstable long magnetic block structures together until the circuit is complete.

Glitch

A glitch with magnetic blocks may occur when players try to remove a magnetic block from a surface which they attach it to. The magnetic piece may have a tendancy to move all the way to the other side of the magnetic surface or lose its magnetic ability if players attempt to reattach it.
