Every Nitrome game you play can be broken down into smaller parts, known as the components of the game. For instance, characters are usually known as the figures the player directly or indirectly controls to achieve the certain goal in the game. Enemies and bosses are present to add a challenge to the game and become the opposition that the player must defend themselves against. In some certain cases, characters may be equipped with weapons to fend off those enemies.
Besides components that make a part of the actual gameplay, there are other elements that exist outside of the actual game, such as the endings which occur after the player has completed all levels, or the menu, which provides the player with options which they can toggle. Some other particular engines: Adobe Flash and Box 2D keep the game running as accurately as possible.
